Norfolk Hotel was the place to be on Friday evening,as media and showbiz personalities converged to witness the first ever fashion show to feature six international fashion designers. Firstly, what I found interesting were the usher ladies who were dressed in african print jackets to complement their black dresses and heels and were ready to welcome the guests who streamed in. The red carpet photo session went on well as guests sampled various bitings and three diferent kinds of cocktails-chocolate,plain plus coffee. This went on till about 8pm where Jambi Koikai(the MC) directed the guests to their seats to witness the fashion show.
This fashion was very short an precise with exquisite designs from the six designers who showcased. As you all know, John Kaveke just returned from New York Fashion Week and launched his new collection that includes fumigation masks and african printed blazers, trousers, tops for ladies and coats. Then Lisa Christoffersen had a beautiful range of cowskin-leather bags, jewellery and accessories fused with safari wear. Next up was Afrostreet Kollektions, and Yvonne Adhiambo(the designer) brought out the best of cocktail and evening wear in line with the gold theme for this event,Le Collane Di Betta then showcased her best jewellery that blended in well with her formal outfits,WazaWazi also had a bag collection that was blended in with beadwork, leather and cowskin in various sizes,Anderson Wheeler also had eccentric designs that left the crowd in awe.Guests left at their own leisure as they were entertained by the deejay over drinks and networking. Some of the guests who were in attendance were Zawadi Nyongo,Jakanoi Larry,Becky,Shuga Lorenzen,Ephy Saint,Billy,Janet Kirina,Deliah,Eddie Kirindo,Loky Zee,Nick Klaus,Sydney,Angela Muiruri.Crystal Okusa and Steve Koby.It was a great fashion event full of pomp and colour!
