Hennessy Meets Grafitti

Lucia Musau & Juliet Ochieng

Story By Wanjiku Thuku

All roads led to the Rosedale Gardens this past weekend where the ‘Hennessy Grafitti’ event took place! The event was hosted by Lucia Musau together with the Hennessy team and was the perfect ambience for an event of this nature.

Since it was a Hennessy sponsored event, the beautiful usher girls served guests with four different cocktails namely berry, apple, strawberry n passion. There were also some bitings that accompanied those drinks with the likes of fish fingers, beef and chicken shawarma, cheese and mayonnaise pastries plus Lebanese vegetable wraps.

This particular event celebrated the best in urban lifestyle, which was greatly depicted in the grafitti artworks on display as guests voted for their best grafitti artists through colored wrist bands.

Bankslave was the winner of the whole show,as his piece brought out the best emotions in different faces thanks to the inspiration behind Hennessy.

The First runners up position went to Swift for displaying a lady holding a glass of Hennessy as a young man brings out his swag using his spray can.The second runners up position went to Chella, who described her piece as an african woman who is literally taken to the moon and back just by taking the Hennessy drink.

The other grafitti artists who displayed their work were Bantu,Blaine and Smokey bring out the Hennessy slogan…’Never Stop Never Settle’ in their own creative ways.

Navio then did a twenty minute performance which was received quite well by the audience. He then mingled and took photos with the guests as he sipped on some great Hennessy Cocktails.

Hennessy Brand Ambassador-Shaffie Weru was also in attendance as he spoke to the grafitti artists and took the guests through the programme for the evening.

Some of the guests in attendance were Stevens Muendo, Gabu, Juliet Ochieng, Cheptoek Boyo, Chero, Mwende Macharia, Wambui Mukenyi, Martin Muli of SOMA, Amit Acting GM of Kempinski and Steve, the Trace TV C.E.O among many others. Deejay Joe Mfalme from Trace Mziiki was the official guest dj for the night playing old school rnb,hip-hop and trap music which got the guests dancing for hours on end.

There was also a Hennessy white board where the guests would write down their comments and compliments to the Hennessy team for putting the event together.

All in all it was a splendid event, and we look forward to more of them in the near future. Enjoy the rest of the photos..
